ADAPTADAPTNationally ADAPT focuses on promoting services in the community instead of warehousing people with disabilities in institutions and nursing homes. ADAPT is working to get 25% of the Medicaid long term care funds redirected to pay for a national, mandated program where people receive care in their own homes. ADAPT has a long history of organizing in the disability community and using civil disobedience and similar non- violent direct action tactics to achieve its goals.

The ATA is a growing national network of technology resource centers, organizations, individuals and companies. Their national advocacy work includes class action litigation on behalf of people with all types of disabilities. As a result of these efforts, DRA has made thousands of facilities throughout the country accessible and has enforced access rights for millions of people with disabilities in many key areas of life. DRA also engages in advocacy focused on opening up access to schools, the professions and health care. They publishs a periodic statistical report, Disability Watch, that analyzes the many barriers and emerging issues facing people with disabilities. DRA also publishes various "Know Your Rights" handbooks designed to educate and assist people with disabilities in knowing and enforcing their civil rights.

Established in the fall of 1994 as a public service, The site has grown into the most comprehensive source of student financial aid information, advice and tools -- on or off the web. This link to the website is a page for finding information about scholarships and fellowships for students with disabilities. You should browse the rest of the site also, since some of the more general listings and scholarship databases may contain information relevant to students with disabilities.

HEATH Resource CenterHEATH Resource Center The HEATH Resource Center, at George Washington University, is a national online clearinghouse on postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities. They have information for students with disabilities on educational disability support services, policies, procedures, adaptations, accessing college or university campuses, career-technical schools, and other postsecondary training entities. We have information on financial assistance, scholarships, and materials that help students with disabilities transition into college, university, career-technical schools, or other postsecondary programs.

Members paint with brushes held in their mouths or feet as a result of a disability sustained at birth or through an accident or illness that prohibits them from using their hands. The MFPA helps their artists financially by publishing cards books and other products with the images of member artists. They have a newsletter, and their webpage has an online gallery of the artists’ work. Additionally, the site has a page where they highlight recent exhibits and similar events that the organization sponsors, or where member artists have participated.

They are a non-profit educational, production, and advocacy organization founded in 1977 by Brother Rick Curry, S.J., PhD. Since 1977, they have grown into an international institution with a campuses in the heart of New York City and in coastal town of Belfast, Maine. In addition to their workshop classes, they offer theatre and community workshops and forums for dramatic literature on themes of disability, maintain a professional repertory theatre that showcases the talents of NTWH students, and act as a management and promotion agency for their students.
